Manchester City star Raheem Sterling expecting his second child with girlfriend Paige Milian

The former Liverpool star is going to be welcoming a second kid to his family soon enough.

He's become a young legend in the making at Manchester City, and he's been busy making his own little legends too.
Raheem Sterling is expecting a baby with his long-term girlfriend Paige Milian, and the tot is thought to be due in the first few months of 2017.
Hi 21-year-old girlfriend Paige showed off her small baby bump last Tuesday evening as she watched the England super star triumph in Man City's Champions League thrashing of Barcelona.
To the big match model Paige didn't try and hide her baby joy and wore leggings with a Man City replica shirt pulled over her midriff with her man's surname and his number, seven, on the back of it.

A source told The Sun: "Paige was smiling and was proud to show off her baby bump. The shirt was clearly a statement to show she was having a baby and she was saying, 'Raheem’s the Daddy’. It seems as if she’s about six months gone."
This will be Raheem's first child with Paige, having already had one child, a daughter, from a previous relationship with someone else.
Raheem won't have to worry about having an extra mouth to feed as his £180,000 a week salary currently sees him living the good life with a large car collection.

Raheem Sterling answering his critics under influence of Pep Guardiola

Raheem Sterling now resists the temptation to check his Instagram comments, after criticism he believes was harsh.
Raheem Sterling embodies the flying start Manchester City have made under Pep Guardiola and his form is the best response to last season’s criticism, which he correctly calls “a bit unfair”.
Sterling was the £49m purchase from Liverpool whom sceptics believed was overpriced and not good enough for City and England. Examine the statistics, though, and the 11 goals he scored for City – plus one for England – were hardly a shabby return for a player who was still only 20 and whose best displays came on the elevated stage of the Champions League.
On Tuesday night Borussia Mönchengladbach are at the Etihad Stadium for the opening group match. City also met the Germans in the same phase a year ago, and in the corresponding fixture Sterling scored twice in a display he described as one of his “best nights in football”. This followed Sterling being the stand-out man, too, when City tore Sevilla apart at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, registering his first European Cup goal in a dazzling offering of attacking menace.
Sterling references that November night when suggesting he was wrongly maligned. “I got a lot of criticism last year which I thought was a bit unfair,” he says. “There were a few games where I made my mark – in the Champions League, where I had never scored. I equalled my best scoring season, with 11. But you need to improve those stats each year. It was a massive learning step for me.”
This campaign has featured assists, two goals, the winning of two penalties – against Sunderland and Steaua Bucharest – and the constant questioning of defenders. He also won the Premier League player of the month award for August.
Sterling is clear, though, that a new confidence is not the prevailing reason. “I wouldn’t say it plays a big part. It is always better to be on a good run and be confident in yourself,” he says. “But at the same time when you hear a bit of unfair criticism sometimes that does put you down a bit. To see people don’t really recognise and see that you are willing to work hard and do the best for your country and club, at times it is a bit frustrating.”
Following the abuse he received for his contribution to England’s 1-1 draw with Russia in the summer’s Euro 2016 opener, Sterling branded himself The Hated One on his Instagram account. Now, he ignores social media. “Yeah, I’ve forgotten about that, it’s simply play football and don’t listen to it, don’t read anything like that,” Sterling says. “Before, you take a stroll and you look at the app on your phone, just being nosey, and you see your name and probably have a little bit of a read. But now I don’t pay it any attention anymore. I simply leave it alone.”
Guardiola has been a long-term admirer of the boy from Wembley and the coach made sure he knew this by telephoning Sterling in the summer.
“Pep coming in was a massive help and for him to be on the phone to me before I’d even met him was a massive boost,” the 21-year-old says. “He said he always liked my football and watched me at Liverpool so to hear stuff like that made me go away and think to basically come back stronger and work harder than ever.
“When I was on holiday I simply said: ‘I need to come back for the season working hard and showing the manager I’m willing to fight for a place in the team’. That’s exactly what I plan to do through the season. A few players are back fit now so it will make it even harder but I’m willing to fight.
“He just makes it simple and tells you how it is, tells you exactly what he wants from you on the pitch and says the rest is down to you. So there is not much of a better feeling than that, for a manager to make the game seem so simple. He is a helping hand, he gives you a lot of encouragement, and as a young player who is always developing and learning, to have someone who has done that at the highest level is a real bonus.”
After that performance against Mönchengladbach, Sterling spoke of wanting to reach Lionel Messi’s level. To do so he will have to be a consistent matchwinner and weigh in with more goals. He is now targeting 15 or more every season. He says: “That’s a realistic target if I’m honest. If you want to be a player at this club those are the numbers you have to be looking at. Those are numbers I should be looking to.”
Guardiola’s embarrassment of riches include Leroy Sané. The 20-year-old impressed in a second-half cameo in Saturday’s 2-1 derby win at Old Trafford. This was the forward’s debut, following injury, and Sterling understands Sané is a rival for a starting berth. “Leroy is a really nice guy but at the same time we play in the same position. Hopefully we can be on the pitch at the same time,” he says. “But it’s not just me, there’s Nolito as well, so that’s the best thing – to have so many players in a position.”
Sterling is playing – and sounding – like a footballer who is up for the challenge of being one of City’s key men.

WATCH: Raheem Sterling misses penalty but Manchester City see off Borussia Dortmund in shootout

WATCH: Raheem Sterling misses penalty but Manchester City see off Borussia Dortmund in shootout

Just put it down to a bad summer and let's move on.

Raheem Sterling must be the least recharged man in football right now.
He was running around France for three weeks with England, taking abuse for it all the while.
Before he knew it, he was back with his club in a new regime with an enthusiastic new manager and it all started to show more and more that he was being weighed down.
He looks tired and jaded, devoid of a break, mentally beaten up by the demanding world of football.
So when City got their Champions Cup up and running against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, things weren't turning around any faster for him.
It was business as usual for Sergio Aguero as City drew 1-1 after a last-minute Christian Pulisic goal cancelled out the English side's opener.
But it was the same, old routine for Sterling than it has been recently. It went down to penalties and ended 6-5 to Pep's men but there was no luck for young Raheem from the spot. It's just been a long summer.

Football Transfer Rumors: Premier League champs Leicester City to add £30M Watford striker Troy Deeney this summer

Watford striker Troy Deeney.

Newly-crowned English Premier League champions Leicester City FC are reportedly trying to add Watford striker Troy Deeney to their roster this summer as head coach Claudio Ranieri looks for an ideal partner for resident goalscorer Jamie Vardy.

The Telegraph reported that Leicester is "ready to pay a staggering £30 million for the Hornets captain" as soon as the summer transfer window opens this July.

Deeney is said to be amenable to changing squads next season as he had demanded negotiations be held between the English top flight champions and his mother club Watford for his possible transfer. The Hornets had already turned down two previous offers from the Foxes, including a £25 million bid last weekend.

The 27-year-old Birmingham native is rumored to be ready to join Ranieri's squad anytime soon and so Watford's board members are set to meet this week with regards to the future of their prized striker.

Should the £30 million offer be accepted by the Hornets, Deeney will become the third most expensive transfer in English history after Raheem Sterling's £49 million move from Liverpool to Manchester City last summer and Andy Carroll's £35 million switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool in 2011.

Meanwhile, Caught Offside noted that the £30 million price tag for Deeney is perhaps too much for the Foxes to spend. The report mentioned that Leicester will not give up its "pursuit of Watford striker Troy Deeney even if it means potentially overpaying for theEnglish striker".

Still, the reigning champs are keen on taking in last season's 13-goal English star. Vardy was the second-best scorer last season with 24 goals, only a goal behind top scorer Harry Kane of the Tottenham Hotspurs.

Deeney has a total of 96 goals in a total of 263 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets since he was acquired from Walsall in the summer of 2010.

Deeney played for the first time in the English first division domestic competitions in the recent term after spending the last five seasons with Watford in the Football League Championship, England's second division football league.

They qualified in the English top flight by placing second to AFC Bournemouth during the 2014-2015 season together with Norwich City, who placed third. Watford and Bournemouth were able to remain in the Premier League next season while Norwich is going back to the Championship.

‘Leicester City to finish bottom’: Re-visiting 10 bold predictions for the Premier League season

‘Leicester City to finish bottom’: Re-visiting 10 bold predictions for the Premier League season
Ahead of the 2015/16 Premier League season, I made 10 bold predictions about what I thought could unfold in that campaign. Here I’ll dissect how well I did and it ain’t pretty.
Disclaimer: These were meant to be “bold" statements, so I was sticking my necking on the line a bit. I didn’t think these were likely outcomes, but definitely possible.
1. Chelsea won’t win the league if Eden Hazard misses 10 games or more
A summary of what I said: This should be the season where Hazard puts himself in the same category as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. If Hazard continues his upward trajectory then 2015/16 could be his version of Ronaldo’s 2007/08. We might not see 42 goals but replicating his last season with Lille — 20 goals and 16 assists in the league — is realistic. The one issue for Chelsea in all of this is that seemed dependent on Hazard last season; when he was off-colour they seemed to lack a spark. Hazard has barely been injured in his career but if he were to go down this season for an extended spell of time it could be enough to knock Chelsea off their throne in what is expected to be a tighter title race.
What happened: Hazard actually played 31 league games for Chelsea, but he only started 25. He missed a spell with a groin injury and only managed four league goals all season, with three assists. Without him on top form, Chelsea put up the worst Premier League title defence in history.
Verdict: Strong start, correct prediction
2. Wayne Rooney will break the 20-goal barrier
A summary of what I said: Rooney has always broken double figures for United and his tally in the past three seasons — 12, 17, 12 — has to do with shifting positions and Robin van Persie. But the stage is now set for Rooney to be United’s central striker and the goals should flow. Louis van Gaal seems likely to play 4-3-3, with Rooney down the middle. United’s transfer business has added creativity to the centre of the pitch and the likes of Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Ashley Young are there to feed Rooney.
What happened: A long spell on the sidelines and some poor performances on the pitch saw Rooney register his worst goal total (7) for United in the league. His England starting spot for Euro 2016 is now a doubt.
Verdict: Fail, way off the mark
3. Liverpool to finish 25 points off top spot again
A summary of what I said: For all the optimism around Liverpool after a major transfer outlay, it is hard to see where they will make up the ground on their rivals for the Uefa Champions League spots. They have lost their best player for the second consecutive season, in Raheem Sterling, following Luis Suarez the year before, and the influence of Steven Gerrard is gone, too. A central defence which had as many woeful days as it kept clean sheets (12) remains. The biggest unknown for Liverpool is the fitness of Daniel Sturridge. Liverpool would not have splashed out on Christian Benteke without major doubts over Sturridge’s fitness, which is a shame; the England striker is a step above anything else they have. The title race looks set to be extremely competitive and if Liverpool cannot hit the ground running they could be left behind by October.
What happened: Liverpool made a terrible start to the season, Brendan Rodgers was sacked in October and it took time for Jurgen Klopp to have an impact on the squad. They finished 21 points off Leicester, down in eighth place, which is the same distance to Sunderland in 17th.

Manchester City footballer, Raheem Sterling, is currently selling his old house in Liverpool for £1.5 million. The property, which was first listed by Ball & Percival and can now be found with Fine & Country and has been reduced in price by £300,000.
Sterling is a huge Michael Jackson fan and the four bedroomed/four bathroomed house features Michael Jackson memorabilia, a home cinema, basketball court, swimming pool and even a in-house barber.

Remi Garde: A fit Gabby Agbonlahor could give Aston Villa a lift

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde expects to Gabby Agbonlahor to stay at the club beyond Monday's transfer deadline.
The long-serving striker has been linked with a move this month, but is in contention to face Manchester City on Saturday.
He has suffered with calf and back problems since Garde arrived in November, yet could return to the squad for the FA Cup fourth-round clash at Villa Park.
Turkish side Kayserispor have been linked with Agbonlahor, but Garde is planning for him to stay.
"I think so," said the Frenchman, when asked if the forward would still be at the club next week.
"When I arrived Gabby was injured and was not in the training sessions for a long time. The time I spent discovering the team and players he was not here. He has trained for the last week and seems to be better.
"If he's in the right mood and okay physically he could give us a lift with goals.
"Every player who's not playing is frustrated apart from 11 playing the game. You're a professional player, you want to start."
Agbonlahor, 29, signed a four-year deal in 2014 and is Villa's longest-serving current player, having made 360 appearances for the club, but has played just one minute under Garde.
Philippe Senderos has been allowed to leave by mutual consent this month as Garde continues to rebuild his squad.
The Villa boss is still trying to sign new players but has struggled with the team bottom of the Barclays Premier League and 10 points from safety.
Garde said: "Everybody is working on players. As you know, for many reasons it's difficult for us to sign players. I am still hoping I can have more.
"I will be very happy on Monday to speak about new players."
Garde remains without Alan Hutton and Carlos Sanchez (both hamstring) while Jordan Amavi is out for the season with a knee injury and Adama Traore is not expected back for at least a month with a broken foot.
Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini has reinforced his view that Manchester City have more to complain about than Everton as the controversy over their Capital One Cup semi-final rumbles on.
The City boss also claims his side could have won the tie even if Kevin De Bruyne's contentious strike in Wednesday's second leg at the Etihad Stadium had been disallowed.
City progressed with a 4-3 aggregate win after recovering from 3-1 down with the aid of De Bruyne's disputed goal, which was allowed to stand despite Raheem Sterling running the ball out of play.
Everton railed at the injustice afterwards with manager Roberto Martinez describing the defeat as "hurtful and unfair" but Pellegrini felt City had been on the wrong end of more bad decisions over the two games.
Pellegrini said: "First of all, I think the ball was just one centimetre over the line but it was very difficult for the linesman to see with the two posts, and the position of the referee cannot allow him to see if the ball is completely out or not.
"That was less of a mistake than the two penalties when he didn't whistle against Everton in the Premier League and in the first leg at Goodison Park.
"Their first goal was also offside so Everton cannot complain about one refereeing decision that was a mistake. We have more complaints but we never talk, that's the difference.
"If that goal was not allowed because the ball was out we had another 15 minutes. We had two shots on the post, we had a lot of options and absolutely dominated the game.
"Everton had just one shot in the second half so I don't think we are in the final because of that refereeing decision. We had more damage from the referee than Everton.
"We had 16 or 18 shots against three from Everton. I'm sure if we weren't already winning 2-1 we could score the second goal without any problem."
The big downside from the game from City's point of view was the loss of De Bruyne, who also set up Aguero's goal, late in the game with ankle and knee damage.
Pellegrini said: "He will not be out for the whole season because it's not a cruciate ligament but we knew it was important damage. We hope he can return before, but the first diagnosis is that he will be out for eight to 10 weeks."
City's victory over Everton kept them alive in four competitions but Pellegrini claims winning the quadruple remains unlikely. His immediate concern is Saturday's FA Cup trip to Villa.
He said: "It's not a target that we have in mind at the moment because it is not a realistic target. We have to play against Aston Villa tomorrow. If we fail tomorrow, we finish talking about that."
